We explore two critical themes related to the arc of the coaching relationship: the idea of endings and beginnings. Specifically, we discuss bringing the coaching to a close and planning for “life after coaching.” Coaches work to make themselves redundant, meaning all coaching relationships should be time-limited. Ultimately, our role is to support clients in being independent and experiencing self-confidence and self-belief. How we manage endings is essential—and not only for the client!
