The most vital aspect of learning to coach effectively is receiving feedback on your coaching.
This course is for people in Positive Acorn’s Level 1 Package. Participants will accelerate their professional development by learning the skills of reflective practice. This practice is more than just noticing what goes wrong in coaching and trying to fix weaknesses. Rather than focusing on “getting it right,” we emphasize the development of personal style, identifying moments of critical choice within each session, and engaging in ongoing improvement.
Mentor Coaching occurs in a supportive environment and past participants describe it as “empowering.”
Course Details
7 Mentor Coaching Hours
Group sessions are limited to 8 members so that each person receives individualized attention.
Earning a Level 1 Certificate requires 10 hours of mentor coaching of which seven can be group and at least three must be individual. This course includes 7 group hours. It does not include 3 hours of individual mentoring.
For the three individual hours, we believe people should be free to find mentors who fit them well, speak their native language, and live in a time zone convenient to them. Positive Acorn will provide a list of excellent individual mentor coaches to participants in this course.
Mentor Coaching is offered in four sections, and you choose the one that is the best fit for you. Sections A, B, and C are intended to cater to people living in the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Section D is intended to cater to those in Asia, Australia, and the Pacific. This course is only available to those enrolled in the ICF Level 1 package.

Frequently Asked Questions
Mentor coaching is working with an experienced coach to receive feedback on your coaching to develop core competencies and build professionalism. Typically, mentees submit recordings of their coaching and the mentor provides supportive feedback on strengths, areas for development, and similar topics. In group mentor coaching, small groups discuss issues of competency and support each other’s development.
Preference is given to those registered in the Level 1 Package, before opening registration to all.
